I have searched this database for a week now and I have
not seen the solution to my problem.

I am running Outlook 2003 over XP sp2. I am using cable
modem as my ISP. My send/receive happens every 3 mins.

I can receive messages without a problem;, however, I
cannot send messages. When I send messages, they go to
my outbox and stay. It says that outlook is attempting
to send thm but they have remained in there for over a
week now.

1. Tried to repair Outlook
2. Tried to move messages to the draft folder and send
them from there.
3. Checked to see if I have a one note add-in but I do
not have it.
4. Read many of the previous post about this problem.
5. Attempted to download the service pack, it kept giving
me errors.

Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. I have
not changed any of the settings on my pop3 setting or
account. Nor has my email host changed anything.

Thanks GK

I'd lower that to at least 15 minutes.

Have you /ever/ been able to send messages with your setup? You probably
made a mistake when entering the information for the SMTP server.

None of those things would in any way fix your problem.

GK,

I am having same problem with Outlook Express 6 SP2. I
send messages and they stay in my outbox. I have later
found that these messages were actually sent. I have sent
some messages several time to recipient. I have ended up
deleting each message from the outbox after it is sent.
If you get an answer let me know...please

That's really too short of an interval. 10 to 15 minutes is a better
choice.

This is symtomatic of a server timeout that is too short. Increase the
server timeout (Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select the account, click
Change>More Settings>Advanced).
