i am using Office 2007 on Vista, and starting yesterday i have had one
problem. when i send an email with an attachment it hangs (the email goes
out, but there is a gray screen that replaces the email window where i
compose the message.) all other emails go out fine.

i have tried basics (shutdown, checked for viruses, defrag). has anyone
else had this issue, what did you do to resolve?

i use NIS2009, but it is not integrated into Outlook or Office applications.
Vista Home Premium w/ SP1, Office 2007 w/ SP1, BCM w/ SP1.

Unless you took deliberate steps to suppress the integration when you
installed it, it probably is integrated. Did you check?

Norton usually adds it's own toolbar in outlook (comes with Anti-spam rules,
and stuff like that...) - this toolbar is missing. so i checked the
screens, and have turned off the email/message scanning (permanently off).
issue still exists.

i have had the norton 2009 on for about two weeks now, with no issues.
there has been no system changes (no updates or new software added or changes
things like that) that i can think of in the last week.

With may AV programs, including anything by Symantec, disabling an
already-installed mail scanner does not actually prevent it from interfering
with the interaction between Outlook and the mail server. You must never
install it in the first place.
