you did not answer my qs though. How can rectify the problem of receiving
emails. at present I am not receiving any emails at all. till last week I was
not able to send emails when I have manged to sort that out (by simply
deleting one email in my outbox,) but now I am not receiving any emails. I
was simply wondering why two big antivirus sotwares are not compatible with
windows mail not blaming anyone???

The question should be, why can't McAfee and Norton produce
antivirus programs that are compatible with Windows Mail?
Most of the other AV vendors have managed to produce compatible
products. Both Norton and McAfee have a long history of screw-ups
like this. Here are some recent examples:

I answered your question "how is that windows mail is not compatible
with tow main antivirus softwares norton and Macafee???!!!!"

As for your other question, you never stated which antivirus you
were running, so if you are running McAfee or Norton, you know
what the first step to recovery is. [Uninstall]

Sounds like you have not participated in newsgroups enough to know
what rude is. Try newsgroup microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
to learn more, preferably subscribing through your internet provider's
newsgroup server so you will see more of the messages crossposted
to newsgroups for people who prefer other operating systems. When
your skin is thicker, try newsgroup alt.usenet.kooks.

This newsgroup is run by volunteers, only one of which I've seen to be
from Microsoft, and he's not one of the more active posters. Gary is
one of the more helpful people in this newsgroup, and you're being
rude to him.

Since I handle hundreds of questions each day, I often have to be
curt and to the point.

I hope you don't mistake my lack of chattiness as a sign of rudeness.
I certainly had no intention of being rude.

Make sure you are not leaving messages on the server. Go to Tools |
Accounts and select the account then click Properties. On the Advanced tab
uncheck the option to leave a copy on the server.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.

Gary does not work for Microsoft.
Neither do I.
MVP is an award Microsoft gives for being right a lot.
You can't uninstall Windows Mail. You can remove access to it, but you
cannot uninstall it.
