Sending an attachment using Windows Mail??

Ann

Hi

When I try to send a word document or internet link as an attachment using
the send as option the sytem is immediately defaulting to Microsoft Outlook
and will not let me change it to Windows Mail (tried the Control Panel, Mail
tab). Can anyone advise me as to how to alter it so I can Send As using
Windows Mail???

Thanks

I use Office 2003, as far as I can tell from a brief look, you only get the
"Send" or
"Send as Copy" button if you have an email account set up in Outlook, and
you select a recipient from the Outlook contacts.
Clicking on "File" - "Send To" - "Mail Recipient (as attachment)" opens the
default email program, which in my case, is Thunderbird. I'm not sure if
this works with Windows Mail, as WM won't attach an open file.

'Control Panel|Default Programs|Set your default programs', make sure
Windows Mail is set as the default program and that it has all it's defaults
(Choose defaults for this program). Note that Microsoft Office updates
(updates to Outlook 2003) will usually reset Default Programs and make
Outlook 2003 the default again. You'll need to keep an eye on this.
