Live mail problem

I installed windows live mail and can receive email but not send or forward
it. Also, I have been trying to send a Word 2007 document as an attachment,
but can't do that either.

You'll find support for Windows Live Mail (WLMail) in this public newsgroup:

I'll try to answer your 2nd question :
You have to CLOSE the Word document first, then Attach. But try it now. It
won't work because you must have the wrong SMTP setting which is why you are
unable to send.

Windows Live Mail doesn't care if the Word document is open elsewhere.
Only Windows Mail has that requirement.
