Send Pictures Via Email Gone!

Last week I installed Photo Explosion. After it giving me lots and lots of
trouble, I uninstalled it. But after I did the uninstall, my Windows picture
resizer is gone! I use that feature almost daily in my business of
embroidery, and now when I open my files in my Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
to email pictures and graphics for artwork, I can't resize it. I don't like
sending zip files if I don't have to. I am lost without this little gold
nugget of software to resize my artwork. I have done searches to see where
it is on the hard drive and can't find it. Please, can anyone tell me where
it is and how to get it back so it pops up with my 'Send To.....Mail
Recipient' in my Windows Picture and Fax Veiwer!

Try this, maybe it will restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"

Also...the following free PowerToy can be quite useful:

Go to the following link and download and
install: ImageResizer.exe

http://tinyurl.com/36n

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

To insure that images in both portrait and
landscape orientation are resized to the
same dimensions...go to...Advanced...
and enter the largest number in both fields.
IOW...for 600x800...enter 800 in both fields.

John, Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! It worked and I can't thank you enough for
restoring one of my most useful tools! Now about the Power Toy, Image
Resizer you told me about. If I down load it will it take over as default
over the little image resizer I just restored? I would like to have it too,
but not if it means losing the one I just restored.

Again, A Million Thanks!

You're welcome.

No, ImageResizer will not affect your settings...
all it will do is add a resize pictures option
to your right click menu.

John, I ran into this problem as well and found the fix to be the same DLL
registration issue. Do you or anyone know what may have caused this?

Hard to say...but possibly the installation
of some type of software caused the .dll
to become unregistered.
