Click on Start and click on Run.
Type in (or Copy and Paste) the following in the textbox:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...

This should solve the problem.

The resize option is not designed to work
when you send a message with attached
images directly from Outlook Express.

The resize option is available and works for me when I send a message with
attached image directly from Outlook Express. Windows XP Home SP2.

That's interesting...it has never worked
that way for me.

Are you saying the Resize dialog appears
when you perform the following steps?

1) Open Outlook Express...
2) Click the New Post button...
3) Click the attachment button...
4) Browse for an image...
5) Select an image...
6) Click Send...

....
5) Rightclick an image...
6) Click "Resize Pictures" in the context menu that appears...
7) Select size desired in Resize Pictures box...
8) Click OK...
9) A supplementary resized picture will appear in bottom of same folder
called MyPic (small)...Scroll down to find it!...
10) Select that resized picture...
11) Click OK...
12) Resized picture will appear in OE message box...
13) Click Send.

Rightclick the image, don't just leftclick select it! And then look for the
new resized image, it will be at bottom of folder and if you don't scroll
down you'll not see it!

There's the point...your method is not sending
the message directly from Outlook Express...

You are selecting the image in Windows Explorer
and then calling Outlook Express...

As I originally stated...

The resize option is *not* designed to work
when you send a message with attached
images *directly* from Outlook Express.

If you read the steps I posted...you can easily
see the method is not the same. The OP
stated he gets the option to resize when
doing it your way...the question was:

"from out look express 6 I want to send pictures
I can do this but it does not give me a chance to
resize"

OK, I get it. Maybe. The OP wants to resize pictures he has in one of his OE
folders. Indeed no resize possible then. But why can't the OP just save that
picture in his My Pictures and then resize it the way I do with pictures I
attach to emails? There are enough real PC problems around without imagining
some more.

Keep up the good work, John. I always read your answers to OP problems with
interest.

I don't think anyone is creating a problem...the OP
simply asked a question.

No doubt...the OP could do what you suggest...but
it requires the ImageResizer PowerToy and would
clutter the hard drive with smaller copies of the images.
Not to mention that it requires more steps (preparation)
than simply opening a new e-mail message and
attaching an image.

Thanks for the generous compliment.
