Send Immediately Problem

W

Wayne Wengert

I am using Outlook 2003 on a Win XP system with an always on Broadband
connection and I have checked the box "Send immediately when connected" but
when I click on Send, the outgoing messages stay in my Outbox until I click
on Send/Receive. I suspect that somehow Outlook doesn't know I am connected?

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

How are your dial/internet settings configured within Outlook, i.e. how
is the email account configured to connect? If its using some sort of
dial-up (as some broadband services do) then Outlook may be set not to
send messages until connected.

An alternative may be to set your email account to check for new
messages every x minutes, i.e. every minute. This will send and receive
any messages.

Paul.
