Send but no receive

Out of the blue one day, our Outlook decided to stop working. It will
send but not receive and anything I do in the TOOLS, SEND/RECEIVE
seems to get me nowhere. My mail server & connection are fine and my
settings appear to be okay so... Does anyone have any ideas on what
might cause something like this or what to try next? TIA
 
What version of Outlook are you using?
What error do you get?
Disabled any incoming mail scanner already? (anti-spam and anti-virus)
