In windows Mail, Email will only send when you launch the application.
Messages written stay in the outbox and will only send when you relaunch the
application.
Any ideas please??

Click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email account, then Properties.
If there's no check mark in the box before Include this account when
receiving mail or synchronizing, click on this box and then Apply.
Click on OK and then Close.

Click on Tools, then Options, then Send. If there's no check mark in
the box before, click on this box and then Apply. Click on OK.

You're welcome. Too bad it wasn't enough.

You might check if the mail goes out if you click on Tools and then
Synchronize All.

The second part should have been click on Tools, then Options, then
Send. If there's no check mark in the box before Send messages
immediately, click on this box and then Apply. Click on OK.

Thank you for all your assistance I have checked the tools, options and send
and the boxes are ticked. I also did tools and synchronize all but still no
luck.
I open the application and any email I have written gets sent, but any
otherws I write stay in the outbox, the send and receive does not respond and
I have to log out to send them again. I receive mail automatically, oh well
guess I will have to live with it.
Thanks again

Windows Mail often behaves erratically when interfered with by some
antivirus programs. Windows Mail is not compatible with most
McAfee and Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see
