I would like to hide some (but not all) Systray icons.
The programs which are represented by these icons should not be terminated.
I need only hiding of icons.

Is this possible ?

Maybe with an option to un-hide them later (even after some re-boots) back again ?

SOME programs show an option to turn off the system tray icon in
properties or something related. I don't know about others.

You can hide an icon from displaying in the Notification Area (which is the
official name, systray is the common name) by right clicking a blank area of
the Taskbar | Properties | Taskbar Tab - Customize. From the Customize
Notifications dialog box click on an item to bring up the menu of choices -
Hide when Inactive, Always Hide, Always Show.

Note: Sometimes, even when setting it to Always Hide, it might show up on
some subsequent boot. I have one that does that, every two or three
restarts it shows up.

When at least one icon is hidden you should see a left facing single chevron
in the notification area to the left of the clock. Click on that to display
all the hidden icons.

For some programs that place an icon in the notification area, you can
right click on the icon and select the option to remove it from the
notification area. To get it back you would need to go into the settings
for that program and set it to display. This is application dependent.

I know of no other way to selectively remove icons from the notification
area outside of telling the program that put the icon there not to run.

Mark ... try this:
right click an empty space in your systray and click "customize
notifications" This will open a window where you can choose to "always show"
"always hide" or "hide when inactive" for each of your icons that are
running in your system tray.

Hope this helps
