Lost icons and systray

hi folks: I am running winsxp with sp2,and zonealarm for m
firewall.Here is my problem. When I boot the sytem everything seems t
be fine,all my icons
on the desktop are there,as the system loads,some icons in the tray ar
there,but all of a sudden The screen goes blank and all icons are los
along with the systray. Then all of sudden they all come back for abou
20 seconds
then disappear again. this will go on as long as the system is up. I
order to run any one program you would have to click on the icon fo
that program.
sometimes the screen would just show my bitmap. This all started a fe
days
ago when windows explorer had asked permission to go to the net an
this was flagged by zonealarm. When I allowed this and said "ALLOW
this is when
the whole problem started. Anybody got a resolve for this problem
