security update KB835732 won't "take"

My system has been repeatedly prompting me to download
Windows XP security update KB835732. Obediently, I have
done so -- for several days running, until I finally
noticed it was the same patch. Apparently KB835732is not
being accepted by my system. (It's been about 12 days!)
Can you help? Thx
