Security Update 819696 - repeatedly

I have Win XP Pro set to auto-notify availability of new
security updates and this usually works routinely.
The last week or two, I've been getting repeated
notifications that Update 819696 is available and ready.
I must have applied this three times before I started to
recognise the ID number but I'm still receiving the
notifications. AFAIK, no higher-numbered updates have
followed.
The update reports itself as having installed successfully
so the question is, what gives? Is it a problem at my end
or are others having the same experience?
Any insight will be welcome.
TIA,
Peter

Hi Peter,

You will not need this patch if you upgrade to DirectX 9.0b.

You can download DirectX 9.0b from:

Post back if you still have the problem after upgrading to DirectX 9.0 b.

Thanks Kevin, I'll check that out. :-)

Kevin - just reporting back that there's been no recurrence
of the problem since I installed DirectX 9.0b
Thanks again for the assistance. :-)
