Have Toshiba laptop, with XP Home. Have had no trouble
with windows updates until recently. every day for the
last few weeks auto-update downloads and installs
critical security update 819696, only apparently it
doesn't because it reinstalls it every day. Today I did
it manually. Still when I check the update availability,
it says there is one critical update that needs to be
installed --you guessed it 819696. any suggestions?
2nd issue, I can't believe I have to go to a newsgroup
with this and can't find somewhere to email this directly
to microsoft as in the past. They send you in a circle
and pass the buck. I'm a MS stockholder and I buy a lot
of MS products and I resent their poor treatment of us
common folks!
