Security Center

Hi I've been having majoer problems with spyware and adware on my computer.
Every few mins I get a message on the screen at the bottom saying that
windows security center has detected some and my comupter is in danger. When
I click on it nothing happens. When I go into windows security center it says
"The security center is currently unavailable because the "Security Center"
service has not started or was stopped." I tried doing a search on microsoft
help site for this and it told me to type in Services.msc in run and when the
services box came up double-click on security center and set its startup type
to automatic. The trouble is that security center is not on the list in the
services box... so I have no way to switch it back on. Does anyone know of
another way to do this? Thanks

Try it this way.
Go to Start Menu, then go to Search. Type in Administrative Tools. Open it,
then go down to Services, then down to security center. If it's there open
that, then click Automatic and also click Start.
