Securing a removable drive

I need to password protect a removable drive. I assume third party
software is the solution. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Any other suggestions?

I'd take a look at some of the third party encryption tools. Head this
direction for some free ones:

I don't like to endorse too many specific pay-ware products (there's some
that I feel confident enough to do so) but I do own a copy of Cryptainer and
haven't had any complaints with it thus far.

Regarding Cryptain LE, my understanding is that it limits container
sizes to 20 mb, but if I'm impressed, I'll buy the PE version.

I generally look for freeware alternatives because I'm reluctant to back the
majority of payware products with my reputation (such as it is) and want to
thank Torgeir for the additional link. It, the free version, does have a
limit to file size BUT there's no limit to the amount of containers you can
make.
