secure printer sharing between 2kPro machines

Hi all

I'm trying to securely share a printer between two 2k Pro
machines on a LAN.

My problem is that I can't add a user account on the second
machine to the permissions on the first machine. Instead I
have to create a dummy account on the first machine and
logon to it from the second when I share the printer, but
this is totally impractical.

Is there the equivalent of 'logon with a different account'
as with folder sharing for when printers are shared?

This is most frustrating. Any help appreciated.

In a domain environment you can grant network access and permissions to
individual domain user accounts regardless of whether they are members of
any groups on the local machine. In a workgroup environment, you can grant
network access and permissions to individual user accounts only if they are
created on the local machine - don't know why you find this totally
impractical. You can specify credentials by connecting to the printer with
the net use command - eg. net use lpt1: \\server\printer
/user:workgroupname\username.
