Secure Logon?

Okay, I'm still pretty new to XP so I'm easily confused. I'd like to
require users to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE in order to log on. According to
Help and the MSKB:

"To Enable or Disable the CTRL+ALT+DELETE Sequence
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. In the Secure logon section, select or clear the Require users to
press Ctrl+Alt+Delete check box."

This documentation appears to be leftover from Windows 2000. It is
exactly correct, for that OS.

However, in XP, when I go Start | Control Panel | User Accounts, there
is no "Advanced" tab. All I get is that XP window that allows me to
Change an account, Create an account, or Change the way users log on and
off (which, BTW, only allows me to change back and forth between the XP
Welcome screen and the "classic logon prompt").

So, where exactly is the Secure logon check box actually located in XP?

Do you have XP Home or Pro? I'm not sure the Advanced option is
available in Home Edition.

It's definitely Pro. At least that's what it says in Help | About and on
the Start menu...why, are you seeing an Advanced tab under User Accounts?

Turns out you have to go into Start | Programs | Administrative Tools |
Local Security Settings, and under Local Policies\Security Options, set
the following:

Interactive Logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL = Disabled

This value is "Undefined" by default.

While I was there, I also set

Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name = Enabled

Just to make sure the user has to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and *then* type in
*both* a username *and* password.

Turns out you have to go into Start | Programs |
Administrative Tools |
Local Security Settings, and under Local PoliciesSecurity
Options, set
the following:

Interactive Logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL = Disabled

This value is "Undefined" by default.

While I was there, I also set

Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name = Enabled

Just to make sure the user has to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and
*then* type in
*both* a username *and* password.

all you have to do is goto
Start Menu > Runs > (type in) control userpasswords2

a windows will come
press Control + Tab together
after that press Alt + R together
press enter to finish

NOW YOU ARE DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
