Ctl+Alt+Del

O

Obadiah

Hello,
I am running XP Pro and am trying to change my security
settings. I would like to have all users press
Ctrl+Alt+Delete to log on.

However I have no tab to do this on my User Accounts
screen.

The directions @ The Help and Support for XP Pro says this:

Open User Accounts in Control Panel.
Click the Advanced tab.
In Secure logon, select the Require users to press
Ctrl+Alt+Delete check box.

The problem is There ARE NO TABS! Just a single screen.
Can sombody help?

If you are in a Workgroup setup you could try this :

Select Start...Run
type gpedit.msc
press enter/return
This will open a Microsoft Console for Group Security Policy on the Local
Computer
Expand Administrative Templates from Computer Configuration.
Select Logon from the Admin Templates group
Here you will see a setting "Always use classic logon" if you enable this
setting it should change the logon screen to classic Ctrl + Alt + Del. To
enable the setting right click and select properties, then select enable and
apply the setting.

Hope this does the trick
Cheers

I too am attempting to use Ctrl + Alt + Delete as Xp Pro login. I attempted
to follow the steps below without success. It did change the login from the
"Welcome Screen" to a traditional login with password. However, there was
' NO ' requirement to use Ctrl + Alt + Delete.

(As a side note: something I do not see answered anywhere is how to get
access, on ' XP PRO', to the advanced tab in users accounts? It simply does
not exist?)

I have found another setting which may do the trick try :

Control Panel/Administrative tools/Local Security Policy
Expand Local Policies
Select Security Options
Here you will find two settings :
1) Interactive logon: Do not display last user name
2) Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL + ALT +DEL

Change (2) to Disabled and see if this then pops up the CTRL + ALT +DEL screen
If you change (1) to Enabled it will clear the last username that logged
onto the PC
