Secondary IDE not recognized after XP install

After installing Windows XP Pro, the secondary IDE is not
recognized by the bios.

Thanks in advance !
 
XP has nothing to do with the BIOS, although once running
Windows can alter the hardware settings, look in device
manager to see whether any thing is disabled. Also look at
disk management.
