SATA Drive causes reinstall of IDE Channel

Dear all,

i recently installed a WD2500JD SATA Drive. It's recognized by XP
Pro - SP1 but it now causes a reinstallation of additional IDE Channels

every startup of Windows. Windows tells that the installation of
primary and secondary IDE channel failed with the message
"no driver provided for this platform". Well, the HDD works fine and
can be used in windows but on every startup windows tries to install
the IDE Channels and tells me the same error message (as discribed
above). "Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility" didn't help,
Fujitsu-Siemens Support as well..

System:

- Gigabyte GA-8ISXT (OEM Fujitsu-Siemens)
- Intel Springdale Chipset I845 or I865PE / ICH5
- P4 3.0
- IDE HDD Primary Master
- IDE HDD Primary Slave
- DVD Burner Secondary Master
- CD Burner Secondary Slave
- SATA HDD configured as SATA0

Any hints to get the HDD installed properly?

thanks in advance and HAPPY NEW YEAR

If there are no hard drives, CDs, DVDs etc connected to the IDE channels
then turn them off in the BIOS and Windows will stop detecting them.

i have configured:

- Seagate 160GB HDD configured as Primary Master
- Samsung 160GB HDD configured as Primary Slave
- NEC DVD Burner as Secondary Master
- Teac CD Burner as Secondary Slave

So i must configure the SATA Drive as SATA0 or SATA1.
