Second Dial-Up Window?

D

Dave

I am getting a second dial-up window after a connection to internet
has been already made with the fist one. I have tried just about
everything I can think of. Of course second dial up cannot connect
because line is already in use. IE then goes offline because
it thinks its not connected.
HELP
Thanks

Hi Dave,

Choose "Never dial a connection" in Internet Options, Connnections tab. If that does not help, disable RasAuto service.

Dial-up window pop-ups automatically while working:

Open Outlook Express, tools menu, accounts, properties of your mail
account(s)
set to 'include this account when sending and receiving"
Connection tab of each account, uncheck the box to use a connection,
(allowing it to share with IE)

These suggestions only diable all connections through dial-up.
Also now Norton auto-protect is disabled. All
attempts through symantec failed except run:sevints.exe /r.
This worked only once on reboot then failed to enable auto protect

Try System Restore. If your virus is smart enough, it will have corrupted
that too.

I would boot to the Norton emergency floppy or cd, and run a scan.

You probably have some 'autodialer' malware. AdAware might find it.
