I am running Xp on one of my machines and I picked up
this stupid searchupdater browser hijacker worm. I cant
get rid of it to save my life. I already ran MS spyware,
Ad-aware, and a virus scan and it only picks up the files
created during that boot up not the actual source file,
If anyone has heard of this please help, I'm about ten
minutes away from wiping the whole system out and re-
installing windows.

Do you try running all your tools on safe mode.

Have you done those same things running in safe mode?

Make sure that you are on the latest version of Ad-aware, and perhaps try
Spybot Search & Destroy, as well.

Find HijackThis in the list on the left.

Use the tutorial in the descriptive material, and the link to the forum

system clean with guided help from the volunteers in the forum/
