IEHIJACKER.SEARCHEXE and others not removed,detected

When I ran Microsoft Antispyware (beta1) because of a browser hijack it did
not remove/detect IEHIJACKER.SEARCHEXE , COOLWEBSEARCH or ADWARE.TOOLBAND
(these are Lavasoft Ad-Aware descriptions) but my Ad-Aware program did. But
while Ad-Aware is scanning possible hijack attempts, it will show 1 Registry
Values Identified and then freeze up, I cannot cancel the scan and have to
close the program. Anyone else with this problem?

Have you tried these operations running in safe mºde?
In safe mode, some of the protective services which these programs use to
ensure that they aren't removed, are not running, so they are easier to
remºve.
