Problem with detection

I am using both MS AntiSpyware and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware
Personal (the freeware version). Ad-Aware seems to run
perfectly well, detecting around 20 "suspects", but when
it gets to a certain CLSID in the registry it stops
scanning. Does anywone know why? BTW, MA AntiSpyware does
not detect the "suspects" that Ad-Aware detects.

Have you tried scanning with Microsoft Antispyware in
safe mode?
Run a full system scan, check the 3 boxes

it's on beta, this antispyware isn't going to detect all
spyware effectively. Maybe when beta 2 comes out we could
see the full potential of what this antispyware could be
since beta 1 with refresh isn't that effective at all
it's too buggy.

Thanks for the info regarding MS AntiSpyware. However, I
have not been able to run a complete scan with Ad-Aware
as it stops as soon as it gets to a specific CLSID in the
registry. Any suggestions?

Sorry - missed that piece of your message.

If you ARE able to run a complete (deep, full) scan with Microsoft
Antispyware, I wouldn't worry about the issue with Ad-aware.

If you find that none of the products are able to complete a scan, then I'd
recommend either Trend Micro's Sysclean process, or a HijackThis log and
guided cleaning via a forum--such as those at www.aumha.org
