SearchBar

Hi. I'm new to the group and know just a little about
spyware/adware/malware. I've been having trouble with one of my PCs at
home but I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask for help.

An unwanted iExplorer searchbar has installed itself in one of my two
PCs... the odd thing is that that PC has got Ad-Aware installed on it
but not Norton AntiVirus... but in my computer which has Ad-Awareand
also NAV, the toolbar hasn't been installed... is Norton AV making the
difference here???

Anyway, what I want to know is what antiSpyware software I should use,
'cause Ad-Aware seems to do nothing. I had XoftSpy installed on that PC
too, but it did nothing.

Any help'd be thanked. (If that sentence makes sense... I'm not a native
english speaker)

Thx in advance, Jordo

He even posted in alt.privacy.spyware. Anyone care to explain to him the
difference between crossposting and multiposting?

I'll leave it to you and your expert command of the English language ;-)

| Ah, Information. A property, too valuable these days, to give it away,

Could anyone please explain it, no matter which sort of English you
speak? I'd like to know... should I post to every group at the same time
or to each at a time? Jordo

OK Jordo, here 'ya go --

Multi-post -- Posting the same content to different News Groups but separately from each
other

Cross-post -- Posting the same content to different News Groups at the same time by using
all the names of the targeted News Groups in the header of the post.

Cross-posting is the preferred methodology because a reply made in one News Group will be
made to all the News Groups. This way all News Group readers get the benefit of the thread
and it is less wasteful then having multiple of the same posts in different News Groups.
Just make sure the subject matter is On Topic for all the targeted News Groups and no more
than six News Groups should be used in the header. Some ISPs have physical or ToS/AUP
cut-off values that are equal to or greater than 6 but they usually have limits that fall
between 6 ~9 cross-posted News Groups.

In summation, it would have been preferable for the benefit to all for you to have
cross-posted to; alt.comp.anti-virus, alt.comp.virus and alt.privacy.spyware rather than
multi-posting the same content separately to each News Group.

Others can add to or modify the above.

If the post is on topic for each group involved, post to all at once by
including them all in the 'newsgroups' field of your news client when
composing - usually separated by semicolon [ ; ] or comma [ , ]. For
examples look at some other posts that have been crossposted (or this
one which uses bot the comma and the semicolon).

Anyone replying to the post from any group involved will appear in all
of the groups.

Hmmmm- I 'think' the comma works - we'll see.
