Background program(virus)?

Marc70

I have some strange "program" that pops up quickly on the task bar, then
disappears before I can click on it to see what it is. It's a white generic
Windows icon.
I hit control+alt+delete, but nothing there. I'm on WinXP home.
I've tried Ad-Aware, Trend Micro free online virus search, I've got Norton
(expired) installed, but I still can't figure what this is.
It all just started recently ~2weeks ago.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks to all.

| Hi Marc70,
|
| Try the following freeware sw.
|
| It's a lot more detailed than the Taskmanager. Maybe you can find
| your strange progmar.

He could use the FREE Process Explorer from Sysinternals --
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/utilities.shtml
and get none of the lycos Pop-Ups and annoyances.

It is a tried and true free utility that is reccomended by the Anti Virus News Groups
members.
