Search for a file

I am trying to find out how to search for a file. I am making a
switchboard program with buttons pointing to programs, but I want to
make it so that if the program a button points to ever moves, it will
automatically search the local hard drives for it.

I think what the op is asking for is like this.

Create a button and point it to a program ( using process.start ), but if
the file does not exist, he wants the code to pup up a dialog box and tell
the user that this file has not been found and ask if they should search the
disk for it. ( like when an icon points to a missing file )

Herfried,

I hate those Zip files, it tells notingin a message what it does.
I have seen you have as well pages which can be cut of, that is much better.

Just my opinion to let you know.

Terry,

I was in doubt for that, however after 5 times reading the message I thought
he wanted to have something for when the program moves (whatever that may
been and I was assuming a file).

I think that the OP started with something about searching and at the end
was telling something about a filewatcher.

I took the latest as what he wanted.

Its content does. And I guarantee that there are no viruses the ZIP
files provided on dotnet.mvps.org.
