seach keeps coming up

i purchased an external HD for my computer today, its already installed and
ive put my files on it except for the fact that

#1 - the icon for the external HD is an applicatin icon not a HD icon
#2 - when i click on the icon for it from "my computer" a window opens with
search in it....

little help please!!!

For #2: Click Start/Run and type this command to fix this problem:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

Fix "Search" Opens Instead of Explorer:

To fix this manually via registry:

If this problem is seen for Drives:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Set (default) to "none" (without ")

If this problem is seen for folders:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
Set (default) to "none" (without ")
