Scrolling

In Outlook Express under XP, I can't scroll the selected document with the
TrackPoint on my IBM Thinkpad. I'm hoping I may find some help here.

I can scroll the document list at the top of the page.

Pardon my stupid question, did you move your cursor down to the document
text area itself and click it to make it current/active?

Good question. Yes, I did.
Just found when I set Trackpoint to "Normal center button behavior",
scrolling works but in a differeent manner - instead of holding the center
button and then using the Trackpoint to scroll, the center button acts like
a switch turning scrolling on and off showing an icon at the start point on
the page when on.
