screensaver

I wonder if anyone can suggest what has gone wrong with my screensaver.
I am running Windows XP and until this week had no problem in the
screensaver activating either after a 1 minute setting or by using the
coffee break button on my keyboard.
I bought a new Microsoft keyboard (no coffee break key on it) and since then
the screensaver is not operating as it should.
When I switch the computer on then after 1 minute the screensaver comes on
as it should but if at any stage then or later I touch the new keyboard (any
key) then the screensaver no longer functions.
I have tried changing the time setting and the screensaver view but it makes
no difference.
Any ideas on how to get it to function?
Thank you

It might be your keyboard--if it is wireless. I know that the MS
wireless mouse disable the screensaver.

The keyboard is a new microsoft multimedia wired. I did not change the
mouse. It is definately the keyboard that is causing the problem. I intend
to remove it and try re-installing.
Thank you

Microsoft scores again it is unbelievable that they would put their name
on something that adversely effects their OS.

There is no install to a keyboard or a mouse, One just plugs them in
and they work. PS2 Power down USB no need to power down.
