Screensaver freezes and must reboot

XP Pro SP2

I leave my office computer running through the night, and I've noticed
recently that when I come in in the morning, the screensaver is frozen, and
the computer won't respond to mouse moves or keyboard taps. The only way I
can get the computer moving again is to reboot (via the power button on the
computer -- can't use Start|Turn Off|Restart)

FWIW, I checked Power Options in Control Panel, and my hard drive and monito
are set to "never" turn off, and the computer is "never" to go into standby.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Yeah, don't use a screensaver. Use turn off monitor instead.

I have the same sort problem, thought it was only happening to me due to my
inherent evil disposition. I use the screensaver to prevent burn-in during
periods when I leave the computer to do something else. Don't leave it on
24-7. Dont generally leave it on more than about 12 hrs per day, sometimes
less. Still an irritation, if not an outright problem. Can turn monitor
off, but that's not good either.

I had concluded that it was due to the nVidia FX5200 video card, on account
of the fairly frequent bsod codes that happen if I use the myPictures
screensaver. Have been planning to try an ATI card. FWIW.
