Also, I've had this comp for a year with no problems, but a lot of games get
played, does that have anything to do with it?
First off backup all your important data to CD or a USB memory stick.
Did your machine come with a restore CD or a separate XP CD?
If the latter then you could try a "Repair Install" see:-
How to perform an in-place upgrade (reinstallation) of Windows

Make sure you have your XP Key, if it is not on a sticker attached to
your computer or in your records then the magical Jellybean key finder
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml should be able to find
it on your machine.
You video drivers probably came on a separate CD. Download Belarc
Advisor from:-
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download1385.html
This will tell you what make and model video adaptor you have, you can
get updated drivers from the manufactuers web site.
If you have a proprietry machine (HP, Compaq, Dell etc) check your
documentation as to how to reinstall XP. Remember some restore disks
will wipe out all the data on your machine so read the instructions
provided by your manufacturer carefully.
