Screen resolution problem.

Hi,
I just bought a Sony KD34XBR960 and as soon as I connected it as my screen,
I cannot change the resolution. It's stuck at 640x480. I'm guessing that I
need a driver, but I'm not sure where to find it and with this resolution I
can't navigate very well.
Please help.
Thank you,
David

I just reinstalled the original driver for the graphics card: Original
nVidia® GeForce FX 5600/5200 Graphics Controller Driver... and when I opened
the exe file, it said, "Failure to update the driver." I'm still looking for
a driver to have a TV as the monitor. (David again)

I went to NIVIDIA website and loaded a new driver... it worked so I can
change the size, but sides of screen are stretched and when I try to change
to 1024x768, the screen jumps.

I downloaded the following: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxpmce_66.93.html
and tried everything... can't change refresh rate, can't restart in safe
mode. I don't know what to do. Some of the resolution sizes work, but 1024
does not... and Power Director 3 won't work on anything but. I think the
driver isn't working correctly.

Why don't you check with Sony on this? Does the documentation for the
set spell out precisely what the set will do when connected to a PC?
Most sets, even godawful expensive ones, fall short of true computer
monitor performance. Lower resolutions are a must since the dot pitch is
so much greater on a TV.

Oh boy... yes, I did contact Sony support. They sent me back a link to a
newsgroup answer saying to download a new driver. I wrote them back.

Answer me this... why market and sell a computer with media edition... built
in with a fabulous media card... if you can't use it even on their own
product? I have a feeling that I'm going to have to go back and get another
screen to hook onto it, which is what I was avoiding in the first place by
getting the TV that you can attach the computer to!!!

I don't have any pull in the computer business to get this thought through
their thick skulls - do you?
