screen res keeps changing

Every time I boot the screen res changes from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600
autiomatically. I dont have any viruses or mal/adware trojans etc etc. I am
running xp pro on an Athlon 64 dual core 3800+, 300gb HDD, Asus A8n-E MOBO,
Nvidia geoforce 6800LE, 4GB PC3200 RAM.

What can be causing this?

What can be causing this?

1. Update the drivers from Nvidia's website.

2. If that doesn't help, uninstall the video card and swap it out for a
known-working one. If that solves the problem, you know the original
card needs to be replaced.
