Screen Keeps Freezing

I just tried to install McAfree on my computer but after
i installed the virus scan my screen keeps freezing and
now the items on my desktop are not showing up. Is there
a way to stop the program from loading, upon start up, so
that i can unistall the program? Any suggestions would be
helpful and thank you in advance

Start - Run
msconfig
Services tab- Hide MS services, and you'll find one for Mcafee. Disable it.
Go to the start up tab. Search for entries for Mcafee products, uncheck
them, reboot and try the uninstaller.

press F8 during startup, choose safe-mode to start-up
windows, then the usual way to uninstall a program
(configuration/software)
