Screen just goes black

Sometimes when I'm surfing the web using IE Windows
Windows just freezes. The Screen clicks off as though
Windows is in suspend mode. The only way to get Windows
to work again is to reboot. Does anyone know what causes
this problem?

Generally, this indicates that one of your hardware components is in the
process of failing.
 
How do I figure out which component is failing?
