I'd like to be able to send an email AND schedule/invite the recipients to a
meeting from WITHIN the Outlook email client. Currently, my understanding is
that I can only do an invitation from within a scheduled calendar event when
I first create the event.

My hope is to send an email and also provide an acknowledgement to the
recipients on a meeting or commitment but not go through the calendaring
event process. Hence, IF an event is preexisting on my calendar, I want to
invite some participants. IF the event does not exist on my calendar, I want
to invite the participants via the Outlook email client interface and NOT the
calendaring interface.

The calendaring event process doesn't allow the Outlook signature and some
other things that the email client has. FWIW, I use Word as my Outlook
editor and with HTML allowed.
How can I do this?
TIA!!!

do you require a response? if not, you can send the event as an ical
attachment and compose a message in the message body. If you require
response, you'll need to use the meeting request form.

Thanks, Diane. I would really like to have an acknowledgement so that I have
a full loop activity commitment. DOes the full loop work in Outlook 2007?

only if you send a message request.
