Paranoid Also! I've downloaded patches and updates from MS and they have
messed up my computer twice where I had to reinstall Windows. But I figure
what the heck, do it, get done with it. Have MS phone number and these guys
are great at fixing problems. Bring it on!!!!!!!!!

That's because you don't kill all the non-windows background processes and
applications like Microsoft advices you to do so. That's why you screw up
your system.

Hey root, I don't know how it happened, but half of my previous post to
luminos was deleted from your reply. Don't you want to talk about that aspect
of the effects of the upgrade?

I'll paste it here:

"I am not a beta tester.

that was my point

So was your point that of:
Yes, the fix messed up a lot of programs, but eventually they will be fixed,
too. They are not permanently broken, so it doesn't matter how many
(illiterate) computer users have to blow good bucks to pay MS certified
repairmen so they can get back online and play their games, or how many
senior citizens have to pay to fix an upgrade so they can use e-mail again?
How many times tech support has to repeat the line by line instructions on
how to disable the new firewall, for those who are not computer savvy.

I think you missed my point, and "failed to understand""

Your posts are there. The problem you have is using the web interface
which is terrible at finding posts. Use a newsreader like OE. You
don't lend much credibility to what you say about SP2 when you don't
even understand about using a newsreader.

Not relevant in this case..."root" simply excises stuff in his REPLIES
that makes him/her look foolish...if you examine the individual messages
for entire thread, you will see that what Liz says is true. He's done it to
me as well, I simply choose to ignore such childish behavior-it just
doesn't matter as the ORIGINAL COMPLETE post is just up the
thread a bit for anyone to see in any case.

It has nothing at all to do with "missing" posts or what you're using
to read them.

99% of the maybe 10-15% who have installed it so far.

Probably LESS, the flood is just beginning but the more sophisticated with
more varied apps will come earlier so the problem reports may decrease well
below the already very low percentage.

Actually, I do use OE for the boards I subscribe to.
I'm using the web interface from a different computer this weekend.
Troubleshooting.

And you missed my point, I was commenting on the reply in which root snipped
half of my post.

I don't know about your credibility but it just dropped a few notches in my
book, and I take exception to your questioning mine.

I enjoy a good debate, just not when it gets personal.

Maybe I should tell you to learn to read the posts more carefully before you
jump in and reply in error.
I said nothing about my posts not being there.

Yeah sorry I did misread your post.
