scanning error

our emachine T1742 has xphome preinstalled.our new hp psc
2175 all in one works great except for scanning.when the
psc driver is installed properly,scan works at first,if
you stop using it and come back to it later,say next
day,it gives you an error msg saying :not communicating
w/device check connection.we tried all the HP recommended
fixes.still not working.anyone else have same problem????
 
Right click on My Computer and select Properties. From the Hardware Tab,
click on Device Manager. Scroll down until you find your USB ports...
(click on the + to expand the tree). Select each one in turn... right click
on each... from the PowerManagement tab, UNCHECK the Allow the PC to turn
off this device to save power.
