I currently posess an AcerScan 620U Prisa USB scanner and
it is not working. once I plug it into my computer, it
come up with the dialog to show that new hardware has been
installed (flatbed scaner 5), but when I go to scan
somehting with it, it says that there is no scanner
plugged in. Help me (if you can), I'm feeling down.

Did you install the scanner software BEFORE you plugged the
scanner into the USB the first time?

XP can identify the type of USB hardware but to get the
correct drivers you should follow the directions and install
the drivers/application software from the CD that came with
the scanner, THEN you can plug it in.

You need to completely remove the scanner and maybe the USB
port, reboot, This clears the erroneous drivers, and then do
it correctly.

That is the problem... I can't find the CD at all. Is
there any website anybody knows of that I can download the
software for this?
