I like my new Canonscan 8400F, but....

However, my spouse likes it too and is tying up my computer. Can I
put it on the network so she can use her computer over the network?

That way, she would only bother me when walking in and placing the
film/pictures on the scanner and removing them.

This largely depends on whether your driver supports sharing of the
scanner over the network. Some do, some don't. Check your documentation,
or hope that someone with an 8400F has a definitive answer.

Nope!
The Canon ScanScan 8400F is not a network capable scanner.

Hey! Buy her own scanner.
What is another $150, for peace at home.
