scanner buttons

I have confiured the scanner buttons for two different scanners, one an HP which I do not now have because I purchased an Epson scanner---- but in both cases the "scan to e-mail" and "scan to printer" buttons on the scanners do not work. BUT-- the software does work on the computer - but not by pressing the 2 buttons on the scanner itself
Have contacted HP--- have to unplug the scanner and plug it back in and re-boot to make HP scanner buttons work each time
And on the Epson, the same two buttons do not work, to which Epson said it is a Windows xp issur
I do have Windows XP Home
I have talked with others and they have the same problem
Anyone have an answer for this?
Many thanks

Not sure about "scan to printer". Are you using the latest Windows XP
driver from your printer vendor? If you are using a printer driver that came
with Windows XP, that may be your problem. Printer drivers supplied on the
Windows XP CD frequently are not full function drivers.

What email program are you using. If you are using Outlook Express, then
that is the problem. Outlook Express is not a full MAPI email application
and does not support "scan to email".

Hi Don!
Have a new Epson Scanner and loaded the new software with it. Says for XP
As far as the Scan to Mail, yes --- am using Microsoft Outlook Express as the Mail Client
Maybe the new Service Pk 2 for for XP will help thiis out. I don,t know
At least I have the software running on the Computer anyway. Funny though, you would think the Scanner people would put this on the scanner information and box
Thanks agai
