scandisk - every startup

Scandisk runs on a partition (which i normally use to install most of my
programs) at every startup of windows. This is not a primary partition on
which window is installed.
I suspect it is Avast.

How can i stop it?

Then try replacing Avast and see if the problem ceases.

Scandisk is not Native a XP, Are you meaning Chkdsk? If so you may not be
correcting the issue on the drive so it will run each time or when you shut
down the computer the File Systems is not being updated properly on that
drive.

Uninstalled and now being monitored.
Do you believe installing Avast at primary partition (windows) will NOT
cause this?

I don't use Avast, perhaps you could contact their tech support with
questions about the product compatibility and installation requirements.
