Scan schedule

Dina

I have checked previous posts but I have not been able to
fix this problem. I have scheduled my automatic scan for
4:00 am daily but when I look to see when the last scan was
run, it was when I did it manually so the automatic scan is
not working. I have tried changing the times, the
schedule, etc. but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

First of all, in its current state the beta 1 release does not perform the
scan, when the user is logged off - this means you have to be logged on when
scanning starts. Next - the logged on user should have administrative rights
(i.e. should belong to Administrators group).

I am the only one who is ever logged on to that computer
and I do have administrative rights.
The computer is always on but it is in hibernation at 4:00
am so do you think that could be the problem?

By Bill Sanderson:

I've dug into this bug, as follows:

Users in locales where the default clock is a 24 hour format will find that
they cannot set scheduled scan times in the afternoon.

This can be worked around by selecting a time format which uses 12 hour
format rather than 24 hour.

This is on the Time tab, and a working format is: h:mm:ss tt

A non-working format is: any of the choices with a CAPITAL H at the
beginning.

This isn't my discovery, it was posted by others here, but I've done some
testing:

1) I set my language to English (United Kingdom) afternoon settings failed
(default time is 24 hour.) Reset time to 12 hour, and afternoon settings
worked.

2) I set my language to English (United States) Default time setting is 12
hour. Scheduling scans in the afternoon works fine. Change just the time
settings to a 24 hour choice, and you can no longer set up a scheduled
scanin the afternoon.

This bug appears to me to be new in build 614.
Control panel,
date, time, language, and regional settings
Regional and language options
Click customize next to your locale setting
Click the time tab.

When the computer is in hybernation (NOT standby), ,it is
in a OFF situation, so all processes have stopped. In
order to "wake up" te computer, you have to press the ON
button. Hybernation is used when the user wants EXCACTLY
the situation back(programs that were open etc.) as when
he/she logged off.
I don't know if a program like MSAS can call the PC out of
a standbye mode, I do know that an incoming call on a
modem DOES call the PC out of a standbye situation.
Greetings from Holland.

Of course it is. In hibernation mode no processes/applications/services are
running (the system "sleeps") so there is even no possibility for MSAS scan
to get running.
