scan disk

I can not find my scan disk utility. Where should I look
to find it?

if you're using xp, you don't have scandisk. open my computer and right
click on your hard drive. select properties and then tools. you can run a
disk check from here.

the command is 'chkdsk' (for read only mode)
chkdsk /f
chkdsk /r

both the above to fix errors, the /r checks free space as well whereas the
/f does a quicker check of the disk.
