Saving Worksheet to CD_RW

I have downloaded the microsoft checkbook template and modified it only by
changing the title name to my account. On my hard drive I have removed the
"read only" protection but when I make entries and save to a RW CD it becomes
a "read only" document and I can not make changes or new entries to my check
register. When I try to remove the "read only" restriction on the CD the
change does not take and reverts back immediately.

How do I save to a RW CD and make it a document that I can change and update?

You can't, and don't want to!
Never save directly to any removable media (Word or Excel).
Copy to your HD and open from there and v/v (save to HD and copy to your CD).
