Saving to Sony DCR-TRV340

When I try to export a movie back to tape, my camera goes
to record mode, the tape is running, but there is no
video streaming to the tape. The camcorder screen stays
blue for a least an hour (for a 2min video). When time
line is completed I click finish but I have no video.
When I rewind and view it, I have blue screen and every
once in a while a partial picture. No sound no video.
I have the latest FP for XP and latest MM2.
I would appreciate ANY help in getting my video to tape.

Tom l cant help you with your problem but l am trying to
do the same thing you seem to be more advanced could you
briefly tell me how to put my movie back onto the tape in
the camcorder l would be forever gratefu
If mine works l may be able to help you back

The camera should be in VCR or VTR mode, not record mode.
