saving pics from web

i can't open any jpeg or gif pic from the web unless it's opened by AOL. the
only type of pic that opens into the windows picture and fax viewer is a
bitmap picture. AOL's viewer is not nearly as good as the windows pic and
fax viewer and some of the others. none of the picture viewers will open ART
files either. how do i solve this?

thank you for answering, john inzer. this solved the problem except that i
can't open thumbnails or other small pics. it treats them as ART files. so i
guess i have to convert those.

Open settings in AOL | Internet Options/Properties | Choose Never Compress
Graphics
